I don't normally comment on youtube videos but this person took his hard work and creativity to compose and upload this. If you don't think it's professional enough then why don't you upload your take of such a beautiful song. There's no need for such hate, just saying

@@sl1psn0tt what is looking like hate, inadvertently, is me attempting to be one... honest about how this video affected me as a viewer, two, help him to see that this is not the best of him, three, combat everyone lying to his very face about how good this is, four, sharpening him, five, try as a viewer to give him honest feedback so he doesnt post videos like this again. Clearly you care more about his feelings than you do about his productivity. It is people like you who ruin peoples lives, filling them full of fluff so no one can know for sure whether someone is telling the truth or not. Maybe you should wonder if perhaps you enable bad productions. This world is extremely critical. If someone doesnt make a good production, they get ridiculed by people who REALLY dont care. @@sl1psn0tt this arena goes like this. The best win PERIOD. The best dont even make alot unless they themselves are better than the best. Competition is fierce. The reason why people become, or even have any sort of career is because they produce extremely good material. Any artist would DIE to have someone they know they can rely on to be honest, and help them reach their peak. This song is not the best of him, and it is weird. I am deliberately trying to be insensitive because some people just dont get it unless its screamed at them. I think he should redo this song, thing out the tone in his voice, not say "let slip by" the bouncy way he is saying it, put his voice more forward making it a tad bit brighter, thinner, and smaller... not sound as whiney, or girly, sing with less tone. The piano sounds relatively fine, but the video needs to be re-shot because the aesthetics are not up to par. Im sorry if the truth makes you feel uncomfortable, this is about refining his work. Free of charge. Helped me learn as well! If anyone else needs a critique, let me know!

Please let me explain my approach here: I very much caught the guitar line, but since I don't have a multi-tap delay for an acoustic piano (I think few people have one of these...), I never intended to play the guitar riff as it is. Instead I waited until the delay pattern reached its "steady state" and took the notes from there. This is exactly what you will hear some bars past the beginning of the original (if you actually listen to the notes, and not already think about how it would be played on the guitar ;). So maybe ask yourself: when you're interpreting a song on a different instrument, is it really appropriate to call it "playing the riff wrong"? If so, I did a hell lot more wrong than just the guitar riff ;) Hope you can relate to my perspective on this. Thanks for your comment and keep up your very nice guitar playing! Periphery rules ;)

I found your comment somewhat condescending although you might know a lot more about music, particularly guitar playing, than me. @@entropy1454 oh yes, says no one. If there is such rule that a cover has to be exactly the same as its original then I'm afraid the rule must change. If it matters that much to you then why don't you come up with a video on this one and sound it exactly the same as the original. I just happen to watch Periphery's playthrough itself today on this song and is not exactly same as the original. And yet you telling me that notes are missed and the cover has to be the same. Get a life bro. There is no complusion on such matter. On top of that this is a piano based interpretation of the song. For instance, Marygold instrumental in the original song itself doesn't cover all the notes played on guitar on the same track. What are you even talking about? My goodness!!
